Beliefs

• We believe in the one true, holy and living God, who reveals himself as the Trinity: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.

• We believe in Jesus Christ, who was the Son of God incarnate in the flesh, truly God and truly man. We believe he was born of the Virgin Mary by the power of the Holy Spirit.  We believe Jesus taught and healed and served as recorded in the Bible, that He suffered and died on the cross, that He was buried, that He rose bodily from the dead, that He ascended into heaven, and that He will one day return.

• We believe in the Holy Spirit, that the Holy Spirit is in the world today seeking to convince all of sin, of righteousness, and of the judgment. We believe the Holy Spirit  leads us to respond to the Gospel of Jesus Christ, and that the Holy Spirit sustains and empowers us to lead a faithful Christian life.

• We believe the Bible is the word of God revealing God’s nature and will, and God’s plan for humanity.  We believe its teachings present the truth necessary for our salvation and guidance for our daily lives.

• We believe the church is the community of all true believers under the Lordship of Jesus Christ. We believe that the church has the responsibilities of proclaiming the Gospel, nurturing and teaching all in the essential understandings of the Christian faith, providing public worship, administering the Sacraments, sending forth all believers to ministry and service, and maintaining order and the integrity of its teachings.

• We believe that all humanity is guilty of sin and in need of forgiveness, healing, and deliverance from sin’s bondage. We believe that Jesus Christ’s death and resurrection broke that bondage and makes it possible for all to be set free through faith in Jesus. 

• We believe that the work of God’s grace through God’s Word and the Holy Spirit is able to cleanse our minds and hearts and enable us to live in accordance with God’s will. 

• We believe that every Christian is called to and empowered for ministry and service.  We believe that God gives each Christian gifts and graces uniquely suited for God’s call and purpose in their lives. We believe that the world is our ‘parish’, and that our responsibility and calling is to share the Gospel through word and action to everyone that we can everywhere we can.  We believe that God calls us to radiate love for Christ and each other.

• We believe in eternal life, in the righteous judgment of God upon all persons, in the bodily existence in heaven of those saved by faith in Christ, and in the punishment of hell upon those who have rejected God’s grace.
