 United Methodist response to the earthquakes and tsunamis in Japan will be closely coordinated with churches and church-related agencies in that country, which continues to reel as the death toll continues to rise. The United Methodist Committee on Relief (UMCOR) is serving as the denomination’s conduit for financial contributions.
Malaria Initiatives Sponsored by the United Methodist Church  According to The United Methodist Church's website (umc.org), "Every year, more than a million children die from [malaria]. Ninety percent of deaths caused by malaria occur in Africa. Malaria infects nearly 500 million people each year. Children who survive often experience health complications."
